I remember a performance review meeting years ago when my reviewer said to me that I worried too much about people liking me. It had never even occurred to me that I did, but it did change my attitude, although not all that much. It was just such a part of women's socialisation that we didn't even notice it. I like to think it is better for my granddaughters these days, but it's easy to see that despite progress, it is still alive and kicking. Way to go!
